Bob Encinosa, DVM
(Owner)
 Dr. Bob Encinosa, founder and owner of Boyette Animal Hospital, was born in Valrico, FL. He graduated from Brandon High School in 1980 and received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Florida in 1987. He was the youngest graduate in his class of 80 students.

Dr. Bob has a third degree black belt in Shorin-Ryu Karate, and is an instructor for a children's judo class in Brandon. He enjoys fishing, canoeing, water skiing, snow skiing, guitar and banjo playing, fossil hunting/collecting, and target shooting. He is also very interested in speaking to children about veterinary medicine and paleontology.

Dr. Bob, and Cheri, his wife of 13 years, have three children: Matthew-11, Sarah-9, and Ellie-6. They share their home with several pets: Annie: a mixed breed dog who Dr. Bob says looks like a deer with no antlers, Dixie: a mixed breed dog who is clumsy but sweet, Floyd and Harry: two mixed breed cats adopted from Boyette Animal Hospital, and  Angel: a beta fish.

Steve Harris, DVM
(Veterinarian)
 Dr. Steve Harris graduated from Auburn University in 1984. He practiced veterinary medicine in Montana, South Dakota, Kentucky, Georgia, and the Florida Keys. He joined the staff of Boyette Animal Hospital in October of 2000.

Dr. Steve and his wife, Claudia, have two children: Eric and Juliana. Sharing their home are several pets: Spot, a Dalmatian, Rose, a Mastiff Ridgeback mix, Talouse and La Ti Da, two cats, and four horses that Dr. Steve refers to as “his wife’s”. Dr. Steve’s major interests outside of work are diving and fishing.

Michelle Ferrera, DVM
(Veterinarian)
Dr. Michelle Ferrera graduated from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in Ithaca, New York in 1993. She has been mostly in private practice since then, both in Plant City and Lutz, Florida, although she also spent two and two half years employed at Hillsborough County Animal Services. She enjoys providing medical and surgical care for dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, small mammals, and has some experience with small ruminants and pot belly pigs. In a nutshell, two hundred pounds or less, four legs or less, no primates, and nothing venomous.
Dr. Ferrera lives in Riverview and has been married to her wonderful husband Frank for over three years, and is the mother of two daughters, Natalie and Julie. She works part-time as a veterinarian so that she can be a full time mom. Dr. Ferrera also shares her home with a dog: Annie, two cats: Max and Puck, a parrot: Noodle, a White's tree frog: Yoda, and a gecko: Felix.

Dr. Vikki received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University in 1993, and her doctorate degree from Cornell University in 1997. She spent 10 years working at a 24-hour emergency practice near Chicago before moving to Florida. Dr. Vikki shares her home with 2 Border Collie mixes, Zamboni and Lynah, a calico cat, Olympia, and a lovebird. Dr. Vikki enjoys tennis, ice-hockey, and traveling.

Jody shares her home with five cats: Rainbow, Jerry, Snickerdoodle, Frosty and Tiger, and one dog, Molly. Away from work Jody enjoys spending time with her husband Michael, and her three children Cory, Emily, and Bailey. She also enjoys serving in her church, sewing, scrapbooking, and all things Disney.

Amanda received her A.S. in Veterinary Technology in 1993 and her B.A.S. in 2007. Amanda has two dogs: Chloe and Sprout, one cat, Molly, and a fish, Flame. Away from work, Amanda enjoys travel, photography, British television, and is a member of a federal animal disaster relief team.

Howard retired from the Air Force in 1990. He started working for a veterinary clinic part time prior to retirement because his daughter, Andrea, wanted to become a veterinarian. She changed her mind, but Howard continued to work in the Veterinary field. He celebrated his 13th year with Boyette this past February. He has owned dachshunds his whole adult life, and shares his home with one doxie named Smores.

Teresa has a Pitbull: Rose, a Chihuahua: Abigail, a cat: Tweety, and an iguana: Fred. Away from work, Teresa enjoys painting, redecorating her house, and spending time with her two children: Devon and Victoria.

Brandy has a big heart where animals are concerned. She has been active with a local rescue shelter and has saved the lives of many abandoned dogs and cats. Brandy and her husband PJ were married this past spring, and share their house with a multitude of rescued pets. Away from Boyette, Brandy owns and runs a pet sitting business.

Danielle was born in White Plains, New York on a cold November day. (chapters 1 - 4 will now be edited due to space constraints.) Danielle enjoys theme parks (especially Disney), movies, travel, concerts, spending time with friends, and is a foodie. Her passion is horse back riding, and she has recently taken up scuba diving. Danielle shares her home with four wonderful dogs, Sebastian, a 10 year old Great Dane, Oliver, a 10 year old Italian Greyhound, Hershey, a 10 year old Aussie, and Chester, a 7 year old Yorkshire Terrier. She also has two cats, Keyley and Gideon, and a very chatty African Grey named Sammy.

Amber

Amber was born in Florida and has lived in Valrico since 2005. She received her A.S. degree in Veterinary Technology in 2002, and became a licensed massage therapist in 2004. She worked as an emergency veterinary technician for two years, and in private practice for three years. Amber was married in March. She and her husband share their home with three rescued dogs: Chip and Kaylee were abandoned by their mother shortly after birth and had to be bottle fed. Smalls (pictured) was relinquished as a puppy due to parvovirus disease. He is now a very healthy boy.

In the future, Amber plans to return to school to become a registered nurse specializing in children. She hopes to have two children, adopt a greyhound, own two horses, and travel by RV throughout the United States. She plans on enjoying life!

Before becoming a technician, Ginger earned her degree in zoo Animal Technology adn was a keeper for several years. She worked with mammals, reptiles, and birds, as well as working at Lowry Park's Manatee Rehab and release Hospital.
