Tender Touch Training
* Group Classes: Small groups consisting of 4 to 6 dog and handler teams guarantee plenty of individual attention. Pre-register by calling Boyette at 813-671-3400, Terri at 813-431-1866, or Ken at 813-610-2426.
* All classes are held once per week for 6 weeks. Each class will be 45 minutes in duration. Remember, your puppy has a short attention span! Call to reserve a space in the next session as classes fill quickly.
* All puppies must be vaccinated. Puppies should have had the 2nd series of vaccines and bordatella vaccination. If your puppy is 4 months old a rabies vaccination is also required. Please bring proof of vaccination with you to the first class.
* Puppy Pre-School: This class is the first important step in training your puppy. It begins with an emphasis on socialization and covers common behavioral problems such as jumping, chewing, and potty training. It continues by covering the basic commands: Come, Sit, Stay, Down, Leave It, and more. Your puppy will also learn to walk on a loose leash. With proper socialization and training you will have a happy and obedient friend for life. AGE LIMITS: 12 weeks and older.
* Beginner Agility: This fun, stimulating class is a great confidence builder as well as excellent exercise for both you and your canine companion. You will learn obstacles such as the tunnel, tire, A-frame, dog walk, and teeter-totter. Your dog will learn obstacle discrimination as you learn how to entice your dog through the course using voice commands, hand signals, and body language. All dogs in this class must be able to walk on a loose leash.
* Rally: This is a relatively new sport and is growing in popularity. It is a combination of obedience and agility in that it has a course you and your dog must follow. You and your dog will learn more focused attention and to heel with precision. It is a fun way to build a closer bond with your dogs. All dogs in this class must have some knowledge of heel position.
* School Supplies: You will need to bring your pet, of course, wearing a flat buckle collar. Please have a 4 to 6 foot nylon or leather leash (no retractable leashes please!) You will also need to bring some small, soft, chewable treats. These treats will be used in class as a motivator for your pet.
*The Tender Touch theory is based on years of practical experience. Any behavior that is positively reinforced will be repeated. This includes "bad" behaviors. Our classes will show you how to achieve good behaviors while eliminating the bad behaviors. Through love, patience, consistency, and a Tender Touch you can build the trust that leads to having a well mannered, loving friend for life.
